MEET THE CREW
Is a Montauk Native that grew up playing tennis at the Montauk Downs. She has worked here every summer since she was 14, starting behind the desk at 14 and teaching at 17. She went on to play D3 College Tennis for 1.5 years, and earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nutrition from Cornell and NYU, respectively. In 2017, she started co-running the Downs, and will be the sole operator for the 2019 season. Molly is looking forward to making it the best season yet.
We are thrilled to welcome Arthur as our our second new face this season. Arthur is a 32 year old, French - American Citizen who played 4 years of D1 College Tennis New Mexico State University; he ranked as high as #26 singles player in NCAA and earned a degree in Marketing + Business Admin. Post grad, he moved to Miami to manage one of the most prestigious clubs in Florida at The Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne. After few successful years there, he decided to pursue his professional career. Arthur competed for 5 years on the ATP Tour, reaching a career high of Top 500 in the world and earned a MS in Sports Management at the same time. The past 2 years, Arthur has lived in Barcelona, Spain, where he founded and directed high performance programs with professional and next gen players. Arthur is excited to be in Montauk and help improve your tennis game this season.
Our third new face is a 25 years old Cuban-American that played 2 years of D1 College at ASA New York, and won a national championship in 2014. He started working as a pro at The Ritz Carlton hotel in Key Biscayne, where he quickly became program director. In 2016, Rafael started working as head pro at La Gorce Country Club and competing at a professional level in tournaments all over the US and Europe. Most recently, Rafael became the assistant coach of ASA College now currently Based in Miami, where they aspire to win the national championship this spring. We are so excited to have Rafael as a part of our teaching staff this season!
Our fourth new face is a well known local musician and the lead singer of Kate Usher and the Sturdy Souls. Kate was a competitive gymnast for 12 years; she was trained and conditioned by members of the Romanian Olympic team. Her love for gymnastics naturally led her to develop a workout regiment and a yoga practice. She’s taught at various locations around NYC including Equinox. With health and wellness as a lifetime theme, she dual majored in nutrition and organic chemistry. Kate is your ticket to achieving that summer bod with her bootcamp style classes this season at the Downs.
Our fifth new face is a yogi that earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Psychology + Human Development and minored in photography from Boston College.
She began her yoga journey 10 years ago, and is now a 600 hour certified yoga teacher in Kripalu, Vinyasa, and Kundalini Yoga. She received her first two certifications at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Western Massachusetts and has just completed her third training at the Sattva Yoga Academy in Northern India where she was exposed to the most ancient teachings of yoga & meditation in the world. She is so excited to share her unique combination of Eastern and Western techniques with you all on the mat this summer!
